STLP stands for Student Technology Leadership Program and it is a great program that allows students to further develop technology and leadership skills. As a member of stlp, here are some of the things that you get to do:
- News Show- STLP is in charge of creating the school's media, or news, show. You will get the chance to come up with ideas for pieces, film, edit, and go through the entire process of making a show.
- Fall showcase- Fall showcase is one of the competitions you have the opportunity to enter as an STLP participant. You carry out a project in the areas of educational, community service, or technological expertise. Then, you complete a presentation that you show to the judges. If you get a high enough score, you can advance to state! Below you can see some pictures from the 2011 fall showcase.
- State STLP COmpetition - Anyone who does well enough in fall showcase has the chance to go to state, which is held every year at RUPP Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. But, this time there are other opportunities for students to participate in as well. You can submit projects such as technical writing or art pieces in the winter or compete in live events such as live website design or robotics. These students received awards at this year's competition.
